My POV

The fable being spread by the Tea Party Conservatives that "taxes are bad for the economy" is a bold faced lie. They are an essential part of the economies growth, it is how our federal government wastes those taxes through patronage handouts and overspending on non-essential items such as ice breakers of troubled air craft as well as their indidual abuses of privilege.

Millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars are being spent to promote the Conservative brand, dollars that could be spent productively on essential programs such as medicare, EI or infrastructure.

In 2006 corporate taxes were 31% and industry was flourishing slowly and silently the Conservatives lowered corporate taxes to 16% telling Canadians it was in our best interest and that the tax breaks would mean more investment by industry into the Canadian economy.

Nothing but "bullshit", it was simply patronage on the part of the Harper tea party economic plan..... "Feed the rich, starve the middle class" .

The liars at the Frazer Stink Tank try to tell Canadians that we are over taxed to the tune of 42% but they fail to point out what we "were" getting for those taxes prior to 2006. Medicare, EI benefits, pensions etc. all of which the Harper government tells us we can no longer support..... again he fails to tell us that it is because of his patronage payouts to corporate Canada that we, the middle class, must lower our expectations so he can look good.

As we bite the bullet and reduce our spending housing prices are on the rise, transportation costs are going up, gas and oil pricing is rising now Stephen Harper wants you to save more for your pension and turn to private medical plans so he can impress corporations and further finance the oil and mining industry.

The house I bought for 169,000 dollars in 1991 just sold for 600,000 dollars yet taxes, whether corporate or personal, did not rise by the same percentage during those 21 years.

We can no longer afford Stephen Harper and his patronage payouts.
