Found on FaceBook....

My email sent to Rex Murphy, as it happens

The government would have a much larger surplus if over the years of the Harper government was in power taxes weren't lowered for high income earners and corporations.

Contrary to what the government would have you believe we don't have a spending problem, we have an income problem that has been engineered by the Harper government. The income gap between the rich and the poor is growing. We can also see this at the amount of cash co...rporations are sitting on, now estimated to be over $630 billion.

Harper has added $180 billion to the national debt since he has come to power. Just to look at some other messes, he has added to is $600 million spent on lawyers and another $100 million in economic action plan advertising.

Another $5 billion was sucked out of the employment insurance fund by government that is really the property of employers and employees who pay into that fund.

When Harper came to power he blew a $13 billion surplus and the a $3 billion surplus BEFORE the 2008 financial crisis.

This surplus has been achieved at the cost of health care transfer payments, veterans services, food inspections, lax transportation laws, cancelled science programs and a host of other necessary programs that have been decimated by the Harper government.

To focus on this one miniscule surplus manufactured by Harper is really short sighted.
