We made it home- eventually

As is customary Pat, I and Barb (minus Tom who passed at the end of May) made our annual pilgrimage to Nutley New Jersey for the family reunion at Pat's cousin Kens.

A wonderful time was had by all and Barb was able to have a change from the grieving process and enjoy laughs, drinks and pool time with friends.

We flew to Newark NJ on Thursday and returned home on Tuesday.

The flight down was rather mundane although the Bombardier aircraft was incredibly comfortable... the trip home was quite different, what was to be a 6:35 PM departure turned into an 8:38 PM as our crew was caught in Newark traffic which we can attest to its being unprecedented even in America. Then as we were in cue for takeoff the pilot was ordered to return to the terminal.

Apparently a bag had been loaded and there was no matching passenger on board, FAA rules do not allow the plane to fly under those circumstances.

We finally landed in TO at 9:45 PM only to find that we had to sit on the tarmac until a gate opened up, we got home to Burlington after 11 PM.....

The following photos were taken from the back deck at Ken and Dots....

As one can see there is a Canadian Flag hanging at the left side of the deck. The shot was taken from my seat of prominence LOL. The deck is approximately 30 X 15 and stands about 1 1/2 stories above the pool giving an incredible view and perspective of the back yard.

This is America after all.

View of the pool and deck area, the building at left is a two car garage and pool house below. The lower garden has a horseshoe pit.

The "what the hell is it" tree on a neighbors back lawn.

A majestic Oak tree a few doors up. The entire street abounds with incredible old trees.

The deck railing has several flower boxes.
